This web portal is a gateway to the information and services of NOAA’s National Ocean Service, Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS), National Weather Service, National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), and other partners participating in the Ocean.US (www.ocean.us) Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS).

Through the portal you can access the OPeNDAP servers and Web Services for data discovery and retrieval. Also available are IOOS approved quality control flags,metadata schemas, standards and policies used by CO-OPS, NDBC and our partners,with links to useful data providers sites and special interest data. Answers to many common questions about IOOS activities can be found in the FAQs and relevant documentation, such as guides to installation and use of the OPeNDAP servers and Web Services APIs.

All users are encouraged to submit content to the portal. The portal supports the dynamic nature of content by allowing rapid and easy update of new information and by providing new channels for communication between users and data providers.
